Phil & Ted users advice please

Thinking of getting the Phil & Ted Sport with doubles kit & cocoon for when DC2 arrives in August but have a few questions. Probably need to go and play with one in a shop before I make a purchase but thought someoe might be able to advise.

Can the pushchair be folded with the doubles kit attached or does it need to be removed everytime?

The package I'm looking at has the double raincover included, would I need the single raincover for when DD1 no longer uses the pushchair or could I make do with the double one draped over the single?

Is it worth buying the cocoon or would the newborn be ok in the pushchair without it?

Can both the toddler & the newborn be reclined? Can the toddler sit fairly upright or is the seat quite sloped?

When you're using it for baby / toddler you do have to remove doubles kit to fold, but it is VERY easy to remove. When using for 2 toddlers it folds with doubles kit still on.

You can make do with double rain cover, it's quite bulky but works fine over pushchair in single mode.

Would buy cocoon, think newborn would seem a little loose in the seat without it, I also found it really handy as a carry-cot, no need to disturb baby if falls asleep in pushchair, great for lying them in at parent/ toddler groups etc.

The toddler seat can be unzipped to slope a little, not much but enough for them to comfortably rest their head to sleep.

I have an E3 but some of my experience might be helpful. I wouldn't bother buying the cocoon for a summer baby. My daughter was born in June 2006 (hottest on record) and we didn't use it because she would have been baked. My DS2 born last Nov has had a lot of use out of the cocoon and is only now protesting at being put in it at 4.5 months.
I have only ever used the double raincover and sun cover and it's no problem when it's in single mode.
With the E3 you can't fold the pushchair with the double kit attached but I think the later models can be. The newborn mode is completely flat and the toddler sits above it in the double kit chair. On the E3 the double chair did not recline unlike the later models. I got mine here and they gave me good advice telling me what was worth getting. Good luck for August

Thanks hmmSleep . I don't want to go for a tandem pushchair really as DD1 will be 2.7yrs by the time new baby arrives & at the moment doesn't like going in her pushchair but think I will struggle to hold on to DD1 and cope with pushing a newborn. I think having the doubles kit would be handy for a few months until DD1 stops trying to run away fom me and I've been looking at getting a 3-wheeler for walks in the woods, on the beach etc.

DD1 rarely sleeps in the day (& doesn't sleep very well at night either but that's another thread!) and likes being upright so I was more concerned that the seats were a bit too sloped not that they couldn't be reclined. Think I will have to go and have a play with one in Mothercare before I decide whether to order one online.

Anyone know if it fits okay in the boot of a VW Golf with the doubles kit removed & still leave room for a bit of shopping?
