Are Clarks shoes half a size or one whole size bigger than Startrite?

So SR 10 = 10.5 Clarks
or SR 10 = 11 Clarks?

I'm not sure but when I asked about this in Clarks they looked at me as if I was demented and said there was no difference at all.

Got DD measured in John Lewis recently. They used a startrite measurer and said Clarks was half a size bigger in length and width was the same.
