One of the zips has gone on my P&T sport...

I can't for the life of me remember where we bought it, it was an internet cheapy deal thingy. Do you think I can take it back to any shop that sells P&T and see if they'll send it back to the manufacturer? It's one of the side zips that recline the seat. Not absolutely essential, but nice to have, and probably pretty useful if we ever have #2 and want to recline the seat flat.

I would phone a shop that sells them and ask how do they do repairs

LackaDAISYcal · 08/04/2009 14:47

do you not have a confirmation email anywhere?

The seat burst on mine where the papoose goes in and out and the seller contacted the UK distributor and arranged for a new seat unit to be sent out based on me emailing them some photos of the burt bits.

Alternatively, could you try contacting the UK distributors directly?

HeadFairy · 08/04/2009 15:31

I've had a trawl through my emails looking for the confirmation but stupidly I didn't keep it.

I think I will have to chance my luck with the UK distributors or something similar. Thanks

Why don't you try mothercare? I think my friend got replacement zip bits from there.

HeadFairy · 08/04/2009 16:05

Do you think they'd replace the actual zip? The teeth have come out of alignment and I can't undo or do it up so I think the whole thing has to come out and a new zip put in.

Our zips broke off and the replaced the entire front seat thingy. Mothercare did that too with my friends. Don't think they asked for proof of purchase either

HeadFairy · 08/04/2009 21:32

oh thanks for that ck, I might take it round to them and be totally upfront and say I don't have proof of purchase, but would they mind sending it back to the manufacturers for me. If they say no then I can try plan b and go to the UK distributors.

Good luck Headfairy, I can sympathise as I only got my P&T sport 2 weeks ago but one zip has broken already! Not the actual zip itself but the bit you pull, the red plastic puller and half the metal part of the zip has come off. I superglued it back on but it just came off again when I pulled it- do you think I should contact the retailer about this or is it not a 'serious' enough fault?

HeadFairy · 09/04/2009 09:26

funnily enough, when I was trying to unzip the stuck zip the little plastic thingy came off as well so they're obviously a bit flimsy for the job they have to do.

The red plastic zip pull broke off my P&T footmuff after about 2 weeks. I couldn't really send it back because it was during the cold snap. I knew I should have bought a buggy snuggle!

cktwo · 09/04/2009 16:19

We didn't need to send ours back, the suppliers just ordered a new part free of charge. The zips are crap.

LackaDAISYcal · 12/04/2009 22:19

The velcro that attaches the weather shield thing onto the back came off mine today. My DS is only five months old and the zip broke on my ffotmuff after only two weeks. I am becoming less and less enamoured of this pushchair as time goes on
