Please help me choose a buggy! I'm sick of the pliko pramette!

DS is just 3 months old and I already want to chuck the pliko - it's impossible to push 1 handed and although I hardly walk off road i think it's rubbish even on uneven pavements

I'm seriously considering chucking it and getting a buggy - but do I do this now or wait until he is 6 months for more choice? I've looked at the quinny zapp and a maclaren.

I really want something:

Lightweight and easy to fold
Small enough to fit in a small car
Easy to push one handed
Preferably with a shopping basket / net
Would like to recline so DS can sleep in it

Can pay up to £200 - any suggestions??

I've just bought this for my 19 week old and absolutely love it. Took it out today with 3 kids aged 3,4 and 5 plus the baby and it is easy to push one handed. Kiddicare have it with an accesory pack for £195 here as well if thats what you're loking for.

The Zapp doesn't recline btw, so not the best thing for a baby tbh.

luna?

Luna's are pretty prams as well, but I found they tipped with a newborn in. They do come with an apron though and cheapish.

Micralite Toro, fab pram!!

nicolamumof3 · 08/04/2009 12:01

if you want a one handed push a solid handle bar is either. i had to get rid of my xt as couldn't one hand push

really liked my luna its a lovely pram for babies and toddlers.

the maclaren quest is good choice for 3m old too and much lighter than xt.

how tall are you? as if esp. tall need to look for something with adj handles.

also need to consider whether you want ds to rear face you? as none of these buggies do?

XT's are fab but I would'nt get one if you want to push one handed. Better with a bar handle instead of 2 handles.

How about M&P Luna, Loola Up, Baby jogger city mini?

They are all good the Loola up has a reversible seat is about £250 but I would say is worth it.

Baby Jogger city mini would be a good buy. Thats my next pushchair when I get rid of my quinny Buzz.

Why do you need a one handed push? The reason I ask is that the Maclaren XT is fab for when they are this little as it lies flat unlike most lightweight buggies but it is a bit difficult to steer one-handed. It is a doable for short stretches where not much steering is required - not so much if you are shopping and have a toddler to hold on to with the other hand, but fine if you are in the park and have to pick up a grumpy baby while still steering! It's very easy to fold once you get the hang of it - can do it one handed while holding baby in the other no problem. Also has the little roof to see through which is great for keeping an eye on tiny babies. Seems to be more robust than other Maclarens - bigger wheels. It very quickly (by about 3-4months) became our main pram.
