looking for friendly robot for toddler

I'm on the lookout for a nice traditional robot for my Ds (22m). Doesn't have to do much but some noise/lights would be nice. I'd love to get hold of one for Weds when he'll be having an operation, so if it's available on the high street then all to the good. Everything I've seen so far seems very combative and bristling with spiky/small bits. Any ideas?

What about Robosapien? We got ds that for his Christmas although he was 3. But it does lots of interesting things..... mainly Ds just makes him dance! He farts and burps too.... which is a bit hit!

it says on the box 6yrs and up, but I think thats just coz he can do a lot more than ds makes him do. You can programme him to do stuff.
