Baby Jogger City Mini - Questions for owners

I just received my new stroller today and so far so good. Just one quick question. Does the latch that keeps it in the closed position ever get any easier to unlatch? I've got a cut on one of my fingers from trying it out a few times. Also, where do you "store" the black flap bit that would theoretically hang down to protect the back of the stroller if you move the sun canopy front to act as a rain shield (I'm sure that makes total sense)? Does it just sort of hang there or sit on top of the sun canopy?

To make the latch easier it helps if you squeeze the buggy closed as tight as you can when you latch/unlatch it. You may well find yourself doing this with your third hand

Do you mean the black flap that covers the mesh when it's reclined? Mine has a toggle like on a duffle coat and an elastic loop and you just roll it up and secure it with that.

Hope you enjoy the Baby Jogger anyway. I'm loving mine. My DD wants to walk everywhere but I'm quite happy to push it along empty while she trots along beside me! I think I might still be doing this when she is 18...

Thanks. I tried the squeezing thing for the latch but it's still really stiff. I hope it'll eventually loosen up.

Yes, that's the flap I mean. I have it toggled/elasticized up, I was just hoping there was a secret storage compartment so it was hidden from view. I'm asking too much, I guess.

We do like the buggy and are now waiting for our accessories to arrive!

I've just had a look and you tuck the rolled-up flap up and under into the part of the buggy fabric that's stretched across sort of at the base of the handles IYSWIM. I've only just realised that myself.
I still find the latch stiff too. But then I'd heard there was no latch at all to keep it together so I was quite chuffed to discover it especially since it's not mentioned in the instructions.

Got it! I had it velcroed all wrong. Now I'm even happier!

On babyjogger.com it talks about a "fold strap" that I think is new for the 2009 model. Perhaps they had to change it to the latch for the UK buggies.
