what sort of beds do your dcs have (own rooms)?

I want to redecorate dd1's room and give her something that will last for a few years. She's 7. At present she has a cabin bed that we inherited which is great for storage but quite ugly.

Do we go for a day bed type thing for her and find alternative storage (under the bed / chest of drawers)? or one of those higher beds with units underneath for studying and/or a futon?

Do we then give the cabin bed to dd2 who is 3 and currently in a toddler bed? Her room is much smaller. Or get one of those cabin beds with the tents and space to play underneath?

What's good, what's bad, what's a waste of money and a PITA?

we have a midsleeper which has a desk, shelves and a big cupboard under it for ds who is 4, its GREAT,
we are moving house soon, and did plan to get a junior bed for dd who is 3,but we are going to get her a midsleeper as well.

depends also how big her room is,
i like the high sleepers with wardrobe etc underneath them, but our ceilings arent high enough!

DS1 has a cabin bed - not sure if it's the same type as yours it's this - he's 8.5 now and had it since late spring last year.

It works well for him (and his small room) and once I sort out a chair for him to use at the desk will be even more useful

DS's 11 & 9 both have high sleepers. They have given them more space.

DD1 has a midsleeper which is great for storing toys under.
DD2 has a shorty normal bed at the moment, may get a mid sleeper when i can afford it.(They share a small room)

that is a similar design to the one we got for ds(4y),
dd who is 3 will be getting the one from argos with the pink tent,

Yes that one linked is like the one dd1 has now. Think it was an MFI one from a few years ago so it's plasticky vinyl not real wood. If I put it in dd2's room without the pullout desk thingy she could use it as a playhouse anyway I spose.

Daybeds anyone? Waste of time/space/money?
Normal bed for dd1 or another (nicer) midsleeper?
