Where to buy online nice baby clothes for summer - NOT expensive, but wash and wear well?

We didn't keep much of the clothes from ds1 and ds2 as we had no space and were not sure we would have another anyway. Now ds3 needs some summer clothes. In the past we bought from Gap, Gymboree (in the good old days when they had UK shops), Oshkosh, etc. We can't afford that now.

So where can I buy a few nice outfits for summer that will not cost too much, but will wear well like the above brands. Preferably online as I HATE shopping with 3 kids in tow. However, I do live near Oxford Street so I could go if I have to.

Thanks!

Pumpkin Patch have nice stuff but sometimes they don't have as good a range available on-line. It does wash well. www.pumpkinpatch.co.uk

?

geordieminx · 04/04/2009 21:01

I'll send you pics of all the stuff that I bought for ds who was born in May 2007 that I am hording even though I know I'll never have another one

I had a look at Pumpkin Patch - not that keen to be honest and I don't think they were that cheap.

Ebay is an idea, but a bit of a faff. I would rather just buy all from one place.

Next is quite good, their clothes wear well. Not as expensive as Gap. I like Mini Mode clothes (Boots) but not sure how well they stand up.

next is good, as is boden, m&s, george you can now buy online, not so keen on their current stuff but had some fab t-shirts for all my boys for a couple of quid that have washed v.well. jojo maman bebe too. i have three boys and like online too much easier! what age is ds3? should always check for sale board here too! i buy far too many clothes!

If you are after cheap things, I like H and M. Dd has stuff from there from last summer that still looks like new. Have you looked to see if the NCT hold a nearly new sale near you? I went to our local one today and got some lovely things for ds. It has to be said though that the majority of the clothes there were for girls, but that could just be our area iyswim.

Thanks for the suggestions. I had no idea you could get Asda stuff online now - very useful. I had a revelation though - my Mum is going to the US in May so I can order some stuff online and get her to bring it back! Shame the exchange rate is not as good as it was.

H&M and Primark

babyphat · 05/04/2009 12:49

or vertbaudet?

carrielou2007 · 05/04/2009 16:51

I buy tons of Boots Mini Mode stuff and the quality is excellent. I am a devil for a reduced sticker on something if it is in the next size up I buy ahead! Today I bought a pair of lined boarders 6 pounds, lovely embroidered cardi 8 pounds and pink fluffy dressing gown 5 pounds.

M and S also great as are Next. Both wash and wear well and very reasonably priced. I tend to buy tops/shorts from Asda for the summer (bought a 2 pack the other day 3 pounds for the pair!!) they are very cheap though you'll chuck them out after a few weeks - for that price you can!

When ds was smaller I used to buy quite a bit from Primark. Their clothes washed and washed and washed and still looked great! I also used to get lots of bits from Gap in the sales. I've noticed that once ds outgrew the under 5's sections the choice and quality wasn't anywhere near as good.

vertbaudet

Vertbaudet stuff washes really well, and there are always great offers listed on the promotional codes page on Mumsnet
