Bluetooth headsets

Yes, yes, I know they make you look like a prat, but I've bougbt one to use in the car when driving. The thing is, I bought it on ebay and it came without instructions, so I can't work out how to make it link to my phone. Does anyone know hoe to do this? The headpiece thingy is made by Motorola, but my phone is a Sony Ericsson (though I think the Motorola headsets are meant to work with any mobile). Any ideas? Is there a website where I can find out how to work the damn thing?

Probably a daft question, but have you enabled Bluetooth on your phone?
onlyjoking9329 · 23/04/2005 21:22
you just need to enable bluetooth on your phone but dont leave bluetooth on all the time as it drains your battery, mines an sony ericsson and it works okay with any headset, make sure you headset is charged up too.

thanks, seems so obvious but I didn't think of it! How do you enable bluetooth on the phone then? Is that literally all you need to do, and then it works with the headset?

Press lots of buttons on the Bluetooth and eventually, the phone will pick up the signal and register the headset. For my headset, I think I had to hold down the main button (big and easy to use, unlike the power and volume buttons) for 10 seconds at first, then follow the on-screen instructions on the phone.
If you have no instructions, you won't know the password of the headset, although chances are, it is 0000

I go into my menu where you would go to look at your call or message log and I have a button called 'Connect'. I select this and it gives me 3 further options, one of which is Bluetooth - I select it and it gives me the option to switch it on. Once I do, and my headset switched on, you should get a msg that says something like 'Do you want to accept connection from blah' and you answer yes. Good luck!
