Does anybody else have a devastated child after their Iggle Piggle trike has broken

We bought it for him for Xmas as his birthday is in August. Thinking that he would have more chance to ride it as most of the good weather would be over by August. I really shouldn't have bothered.

He is 19 months old so is old enough to trash toys but never has as myself and DH think it's important to look after your belongings and luckily my friends teach their kids too. What i'm trying to say is that the toy has been looked after so should have no reason to break apart from the fact that it's rubbish.

As soon as we were putting the trike together we realised the build quality was inferior but thought as long as it was looked after it would be ok.

When the weather has permitted after tea and before bath time i would take DS around the block. Obviously pushing him with the handle as his legs aren't even long enough to quite reach the peddles. He thought this was the best part of the day and would cry when it was time to go inside. We had to start hiding the trike in the cupboard under the stairs as he would drive me mad whenever we were home wanting to go out on it.

The first few times we went out on it the plastic parts that cover the metal joins snapped off and now the long handle has cracked at the bottom and i am just waiting for it to snap off completely. It is quite dangerous really and i won't take DS out on it as i'm trying to send it back. I bought it from Amazon so not sure how easy this is. It is now 3 months old and we don't have the original box or a box big enough to package it. DS is so upset i am almost tempted to buy him another one even though i know this is a completely stupid idea and a complete waste of money. This is the power bloody Iggle Piggle being on a trike has.

Has anybody else bought one of these (i'm sure half the world has one) and had no problems? I think i need to hear that it's just ours that is crap so i can justify him having a replacement because he loves it soooo much and not just giving up and getting a different make.
