Phil and Ted Vibe or I Candy Pear

I'm trying to decide which of these double buggies would be best...

As a start:
Doesn't need to be folded up into a car too often
Does need to be lightweight / easy to push / easy to manuouevre (SP!)
As flexible as possible to allow kids to face me / face outwards
Can be used with car seat...

I think the ICandy Pear ticks all these boxes... Does anyone have one? What do they think??????????

thanks,

HM

The Pear is really unweildy and heavy + I found the flat pram bit was way too small with an awful bar right in the middle making it really difficult to put the baby in. The toddler seat was way too small for my normal sized 21 month old dd. I ended up selling it at a great loss on ebay - it made my life a misery. I then bought a P&T and haven't looked back - I just wish I hadn't been taken in by the slick marketing of iCandy before dd2 was born my life and the dds lives would have been a great deal easier!

I'm sure I've read bad reviews of the ICandy Pear - why don't you google it.

I've got a P&T Sport and it's great. Don't know much about the Vibe though

I think the vibe is just a funkier looking version of the P&T Sport. I have a sport & it is fab. However it doesn't allow your child to face you though.
Best thing to do is watch the videos on you tube, I think kiddicare do them, just google them. It should give you an idea of how big they are features and folding etc.

I tried the iCandy in a shop when dd1 was 2. she didn't fit into it at all, and it was very heavy to push about, and that was just with one dd!

I have a P&T sport,, and love it.

The Vibe looks a bit smaller to me - the footplate bit especially, so not sure what age children fit in until - dd1 is now 4.6 and still fits comfortably into our Sport.

The Icandy is good for twins as they both go in maxi cosy's and that's that, for a baby and a sibling P&T's every time, also compatible with one car seat.

largeginandtonic · 02/04/2009 20:18

P&T all the way. I bought a Jane powertwin but have just got the P&T as the Jane was huge and a bit front heavy.

Thankyou.... I was also impressed by the slick marketing for the ICandy!

It is soooo slick - I tried dd1 in the pear in the shop and despite it being obvious she didn't fit I still persuaded myself the buggy would work out! Bin the brochure now!!!!! Don't suffer as I did - I think I still need therapy to get over the trauma of that bloody buggy.

I wouldn't even buy a Pear for my dt's, it was awful to push, can't imagine trying to get it up a kerb. Plus so small.
Does it hve to be a tandem or would you consider side by side in which case you could have car seat/carrycot for baby. (although powertrack would do that too I think).

accessorizequeen · 03/04/2009 13:46

sorry, powertwin. The other option is a first wheels double but apparently not great to push either with toddler & baby. Emmaljunga cerox is not lightweight nor narrow BUT easy to push and reversible seats. Apparently.
