Oh yes, they look good (and let's face it, ought to given the price) , but does anyone else find their closing mechanism breaks easily? We're on our 3 replacement....

We've had ours years too. Top Tip! Just need to tweak the closer bit occasionally with a cotton bud to sort it out.

ooh thx Pesto!

Ours is 10 yrs old and going strong. Does anyone know how to make the aluminium look shiny though..it never looks that great even after being cleaned.

PestoChocolateMonster · 02/04/2009 11:18

Damp duster with windowlene

bluebump · 02/04/2009 11:20

I will try that Pesto, I was about to say I like ours but it always looks smeary. That orange cleaner brings it up nice too.

PestoChocolateMonster · 02/04/2009 11:30

I hope you don't think I'm sad with my comprehensive bin experience?

ohdearwhatamess · 02/04/2009 13:39

No problems with the closing mechanism on ours (3 years old) but I find it a real PITA to clean. I'm going to replace it with something less stylish but easier to keep clean.

wasabipeanut · 02/04/2009 13:42

Our closing mechanism bust and I think we went through several replacements before buying a cheapo pedal bin from Tesco which is a lot easier.

biscuitsmustbedunkedintea · 02/04/2009 23:30

We went through 6 cheapo bins in 4 months and finally purchased a Brabantia (special offer in Wilko's no less!). That was over 7 years ago, and we've never had a problem. Quick wipe over with a baby wipe seems to keep it looking good. Oh, and purchase the bin liners in bulk on ebay
