Why why why can't I find a zip up nicely coloured anorak with jersey lining for a 6 year old??? The ONLY one I can find is from Boden and costs £30 - no!

I've tried M&S, Debenhams, Next, John Lewis (online) and Mothercare. Where can I find one? Seems like a normal request but they're either denim or 3/4 length sleeved linen swing numbers ... nice but not practical. Help!

Got DD one in GAP today for when she goes back to school in September - was in the sale for £19.50 - got her navy but they have them in pink too.

Benetton also do good spring jackets - her present one is from there and we have had them from H&M previously.

wishingchair · 30/03/2009 21:28

Will have to have a trip into town and give Gap a try.

That was a nice one at Asda LGoR ... but it is black and that will not fly with DD1. Pink pink and more pink ...

There was a thread once asking what your holy grail of clothing was (ie that you look for every single season), and mine was always exactly that, for boys and girls - the windproof, showerproof, light jersey lined (NOT that disgusting nylon "mesh") zip up jacket. With a hood for preference.

Petit Bateau used to have them as a standard range, but I'm not sure they do them still (and they're not cheap unless you find an outlet store). Our current ones are from Zara, and they weren't expensive in the first place, and I saw them on the sale rail only a few weeks ago. So you may be lucky there?

You could ask in Asda, check to see if they are getting more girls in. DD's is pink with lots of tiny tiny flowers (its peppa pig, but that part is hardly noticeable ), quite pretty.

missblythe · 31/03/2009 08:47

Pretty pale pink floral print one in Primark for, I think, £6 at the moment.

andirobo · 31/03/2009 12:58

I have a pale turquoise blue one from a spanish make Mayoral which is too small for DD - I was going to list it on Ebay when I got round to it! IT is a zip up one and is very pretty. I can dig it out and take piccies if interested?

The style is like this
