I have a Mei Tai which I use to carry my nearly 4 yo. The last time i carried her I was 30 wks pg and she was 3.5yo.

Haven't carried her recently due to having dd2 and SPD (still).

I have an Ergo and adore it.

I have a mei tai too - a Kozy carrier.

It's great!

I carry my hefty 2.10 year old in either a TaiTasi or Toddlerhawk (pics of both on profile) - very comfortable and can carry him for a few hours

I have a 3yo with limited walking ability (piedro boots etc) I carry her in the Bushbaby Lite back carrier. fantastic.

Is a Mei tai really as comfortable for a bigger toddler as an Ergo or back pack with a frame?

IMO - a MT is more comfortable. I had an Ergo at one point and sold it as it was too short for DS to sleep in, and I struggled with the straps and my coat. We have a Little Life back pack as well (used when we need to load lug as well as carry DS), and unless I have the back length exactly right, I find it very difficult. Very inconvenient when he doesn't want to walk either - MT fits in my bag, or I just tie it on tightly
