Hotpoint appliances - anyone looking be warned and STAY AWAY

anyone considering any new appliances and looking at hotpoint please PLEASE reconsider, I've just had the most appalling customer services from them and I own a hotpoint dishwasher/tumble drier/fridge freezer and washing machine

they're trying to charge me £99 for an engineer visit when all he did was unplug it, leave it for 30seconds and plug it back in and the bloke I spoke to on the phone in the morning could have told me that in the first place

apparently if your appliance is more than 90days old you are not entitled to the error codes on the phone and have to pay out the call out charge

they are the ryanair of appliances - please think again

our hotpoint washer dryer is absolute rubbish.
unfortunately did not buy the extra warranty and it is now over 2 years old.
however i did call out a local man who fixed the broken door, a lot cheaper than the Hotpoint engineer i presume?
and i just live with it grrrrrrrrr

Slarty, the call out charge is ridiclious and we'll be using the local bloke in future - I just stupidly phoned for the error code and was duped into more

I had a near fire in my apartment lastnight. Had the product one day and was running the test cycle. E mailed CEO of Carphone Warehouse Dixons as they own the brand now a number of times and tweeted. Nothing done so far. This is so serious. There may need to be a recall. Plus I need a new machine today! I cannot tell you how frightening this was. A loud bang. Rattles. Terrible burning smell throughout my apartment and can still smell it. Motor seemed to part blow up. Too stressed to sleep after that and exhausted. All installed correctly. Its the product. Is it a rogue product or are they all like that for the specific model. How can they do nothing with something like this? Any ideas now?
