Which hair straighteners?

OK, I'm going to go for it and buy my first pair. I'm thinking everyone's going to say GHDs. Is that what I should get? Had a quick look online and it seems to be Mark IV that I need. Then I googled further and the price seems to vary wildly. Does anyone know a good reliable place to buy? Or maybe I could get away with a cheaper pair...

And do I need to be buying some special product to stop my hair being dried to a frazzle? It is naturally very dry and quite frizzy. I don't plan to use these things more than twice a week btw.

TIA

GHDs are brill. I couldnt live without mine. I bought mine online. I just googled them. I think I paid about £100 for mine. Any good hairdressers saloon will sell them and could probably tell you which prodcut to use on your hair. I dont use anything special on mine but I do condition it more and have it cut more often than i used to.

I have some Andrew Collinge ones (I think) which were half price in Argos about 2 years ago. They work fine on my long, thick and wavy hair!

GHD's all the way.
