My eldest is 3 in may and i have another child who will be 1 in April and im due to have another baby in June. I currently have a Phil n Teds double which i love, but as i will be walking to nursery with eldest as of September and its a long walk i will need a buggy board incase she gets tired n i cnt get one for the P+T's.
I was thinkiong of buying a side by side double and putting a buggy board on the back of that for when she gets tired. I was going to buy a maclaren as they seen to be good quality and pretty easy to steer but i wanted to know if a board will fit on the back!! If so which ones? I was wondering if anyone else has any ideas about getting around with all 3 childen??
Which prams, boards ect... HELP x

I would go for the best lie back mclarren with a buggy board.

How about a sling for the baby then you can still use your P&Ts?

BeehiveBaby · 20/03/2009 20:02

I met someone with a lascal buggyboard on a Phil and teds in newborn/toddler mode. That would take you to approx 3.5. A Nipper or Mountain Buggy double would be best with a buggy board I think. My 3.5yr old can't walk as much as I need her too.

A sling can be tricky in the summer IMO (and I am a hardcore babywearer). I would get one but plan another option.

A board will fit the back of a Maclarren.

I've done Mclaren and buggyboard, but after a year or so (and a lot of walking) with heavyish DC on the board the stearing started to go on the Mclaren. I bought a P&T because I didn't want to put my precious new born in a Maclaren - I thought it was too exposed. DH did not understand this, and still doesn't understand why I paid several hundered pounds for a pushchair he thinks I didn't need.

If you could find a buggy board to fit your P&T and get a sling that would be perfect, IMO.

I agree about the sling, i walk alot rather than using the car as fitting 3 car seats in is going to be a problem 2 and i think we'd both end up getting 2 hot. Will a buggy board fit on the back of a nipper? They seem to look alot bigget than a maclaren but i have to admit they look alot comfier.
Im feeling guilty about spending so much on the P+T under a year ago and then having to splash out on another double. I will use the P+T as a single when my 2 eldest can walk. I just cnt believe how much im spending on Prams!!

you can fit a buggyboard on a p and t, the lascal website isnt up to date as it has pics of an e3 but buggyboards do fit on a sport, not great with the doubles seat on the back but useable

nicolamumof3 · 20/03/2009 20:20

yes it is do-able on a p&t but not ideal. a maclaren would be heavy work. get something with air tyres. or maybe a double ABC with toddler seat on top for bubs? i saw a lady today pushing one set of twins in her double ABC and a nother set in a double toddler seat on top! i've got a single nipper and love it sooooo light, so the double would be a nice easy push too.

I have just seen a Buggypod Smorph pushchair toddler seat, does any one know if this would fit on the P+T's it would save me buying another pram??

i don't think buggypods have had v.good reviews?

nicm · 21/03/2009 18:15

i'm in the same situation and looking for something for my p & t. i'm going to look at the swiss strolli to see if it will fit next week. will let you know if it fits. i wouldn't get a maclaren for walking-i had one and it was back breaking with a 8mo, 11mo and a 2 yo hitching a ride!

maybe import a buggy from the US?
valco make a buggy that sits two and you can add on optional toddler seat, someone is selling one on ebay right now: valco double with toddler seat there's also a company called Uppababy which is the US celebrity fav, like bugaboo but folds in one piece, which has just added a toddler seat attachment, and buggy board, all with rear facing option i think these people do international delivery even with the doubles seat it's half the price of bugaboo!
