How much for a 2nd hand mountain buggy?

I'm now thinking I'd be able to get a double MB through my front door (most other doubles are too big!!) so have had a quick look on ebay but can't really tell from the current auctions how much to expect to pay.

I should probably check previous auctions shouldn't I!!

Yeah, completed auctions give you a good idea, but mumsnet is cheaper, quite a few have come up on the For Sale threads lately. It's the only one I could get through my front door too .

I looked at completed listings but they seem to vary between £80 and £450!!!

I would say between £120-£200 depending on age, condition accessories
I love mine, much better than my crappy phil and teds!

i think it depends on the model
the urban (with swivel wheels) tends to go for more.
ditto, anything newer with the adjustable handle will prob go for more.
you'll pay more if they have carrycots etc with them.

Is there anything in particular that I should look out for with a 2nd hand one?

I bought one from ebay and it was in absolutely rubbish condition (paid £300 BIN with two carrycots), wish I had watched out for more photos of the seats, the handle, they didn't say anything about scratches on the bodywork etc (covered in scratches . Buying on MN safer in some ways if the poster is known on here. Make sure the original raincover is with it, they cost a bomb new. Not sure if Mel2005 is around, but she knows all about the different seat covers, I"m sure some are better than others for wear, just can't remember which and I'm a bad example! Having said that, it still works like a charm, battered as it is!

Thanks! Sorry to hear you had a bad experience. I tend to buy new pushchairs off ebay then sell them on when I fancy a different one!! I've had three 2nd hand ones off there and have been disappointed with two of them.

I've noticed some MB seats look a bit saggy at the bottom under where the child's knees would be but not sure if this makes any difference. I'll make sure the raincover is included too.

I've also been looking at the ABC buggy.
