Can anyone recommend where to buy bed linen and curtains (not cartoon themed!) for toddler girl?

We are moving my daughter into another room, and she has asked for her room to be "pink and yellow". We'll be sticking to pastel shades of these colours, and I have been struggling to find some nice bedlinen and curtains to tie it all together. Any suggestions on where I should look? I have tried Vertbaudet, La Redoute, M&S, John Lewis, Littlewoods, Next, GLTC, White Company, Laura Ashley, BHS and Debenhams so far, but to no avail.

The annoying thing is, I saw a really nice set about 8 months ago and can't for he life of me remember where!!

I can't beleive you haven't found anything either pink of yellow in the shops you mention

pointydog · 14/03/2009 18:46

not child-like enough?

littlelamb · 14/03/2009 18:46

I just got dd some lovely bed linen from Ikea (including the second one coldtits linked to. All very cheap (still managed to spend £150 though ) I got her a new duvet and pillows as well, quite a thin one as she gets very hot in bed, and that was only about 3 pounds. It was my first trip to Ikea and I got some gorgeous stuff for the dc's rooms and I am now a convert. Not least because they have a free creche

SpaceTrain · 14/03/2009 18:47

Well I have found oink or yellow, but not something oink AND yellow to tie the theme together! Or, there is pink and yellow but it has a huge fairy or something on, and I wasn't really wanting characters on it.

I will check out Blooming Marvellous.

Thanks for the Ikea links Coldtits - the first is not quite pastelly enough and the second is more cartoony than I was looking for. But I wasn't aware they did children's bedlinen so it's good to know!

I'm now wondering if I hallucinated this perfect bed linen set 8 months ago which is why I can't find it, and have written off everything else as it doesn't compare to something mythical i have imagined!

SpaceTrain · 14/03/2009 18:51

SpaceTrain · 14/03/2009 18:52

oops - have just realised that I kept posting "oink" instead of "pink"

OP posts:
Lulumama · 14/03/2009 18:53

dunelm also good

SpaceTrain · 14/03/2009 19:01

Thanks Lulumama, I will check them out.

Am now thinking maybe I should tell her she can only have pink, not yellow - as that would be SO much easier to co-ordinate!!

Have you chosen SpaceTrain?
If not you might balk at the price but this is pink and yellow and v. cute

SpaceTrain · 14/03/2009 21:04

oh, that is lovely Ingles. But I will need 2 sets (for one on the bed and one on the wash) so that comes in rather expensive!!

Heated · 14/03/2009 21:13

I guess then you've discounted this one fromm&S? Not showing very well in the picture but a fair bit of yellow in it.

weepootle · 14/03/2009 21:27

pink & yellow daisy from jojomamanbebe - very pretty.

SpaceTrain · 14/03/2009 21:34

The cupcake one is lovely Heated. It hadn't shown up on the searches for pink bedding I did on M&S, so I hadn't seen it before. It's a definite contender though.

And weepootle, I really like the set you have found too.

Now I have lots to choose from!
