Are you planning on getting it done at a hairdressers? If you've never done it before it may be worth it... at least getting their advice/consultation.

Or are you asking for recommendations of over the counter semi-perm colours?

I use boots own brand in deep mahogany. My DH does it for me. Their rich brown is nice too.
Gives great shine gradual fade with every wash. My hair is in best condition ever, it covered my blonde ends well.

A couple of good off the shelf products that will give you a really nice blend effect and shine that you're looking for are Belle Colour (it's and old one but there's a reason it's been around for so long and stayed so popular!) Casting by Loreal.
They're both good products that will provide the desired effect.
Hope it goes well
If you're not confident that you're going to apply it without making too much mess - smear some vaseline around your forehead - tops of your ears and neck. That way you won't colour your skin at the same time.

Belle Color is permanent by the way and also most semi permanents are not truly semi permanent they are permanents which are prone to fading as they have lower pigment and peroxide. Anything which has peroxide in will be permanent to some degree so if you are worried about first go you need to use a true semi permanent - such as lasting colour by clairol but there are hardly any of those. Casting creme gloss is a good tone on tone (l'oreal name for semis). Sorry to be so technical about it.....

Loreal Iced Chocolate is fab. I did a link on here a week or so agao. I get loads of compliments on my colour including from my hairdresser who only ever cuts it!
