Scooter for 6 yr old boy - are the £9.99 ones ok?

Was thinking of getting a cheapy one for my son. He can ride a bike but has never had a scooter. Is it worth paying a bit more that the very cheap one? I don't particularly want a flashing one as that means loads of batteries.

Anyones to avoid?

Our son and daughter have this one I struggle to fold it but they are fine for the kids. HTH.

for him to practise on and to see if he likes it, then a cheapy will be fine.

my girls have more expensive ones as the cheapies dident last, and they use them alot.

thanks for that. I had completely forgotton I had asked this question!!

If I was paying more is there one anyone would recommend?

I have seen ones for £9.99, £19.99, £29.99 and £29.99 and then the £40+ ones that micro scooter make. I couldn't seem any obvious differences. Is is just they last longer? As he has a younger brother I wonder is its better to pay more now?

Thanks

how old is his brother?
argos have them for £9.99 each or 2 for £15, could you get 2 and put one away for the youngest too?

i bought my lo's (2 and 4) the 3 wheel ones from argos as i didnt think they would manage the 2 wheel ones, now i wish i'd bought the normal 2 wheel ones as they mastered them in no time!

DD got one that was about £15 a few years ago. Still going strong.

saltcod · 27/04/2009 16:32

the £9.99 one has lasted us well too

muggglewump · 27/04/2009 16:47

DD's cheapy didn't last, I've just replaced it with a £25 one but it was half price so £12.50.
It's a Bratz one but they'll probably do a boys equivalent. It was from Argos.

Thanks for all that. Am being pathetically dithery at the moment. Maybe I'll get a cheapy and see how much he actually uses it!
