Ok I need a frilly blouse/shirt for a little girl

We have a fairly formal party thingy in a week, no way on earth is my tall 3 year old going to wear a dress, because she doesn't do such things, so we have compromised on smart linen-y trousers (which she has) and a nice blouse/shirt. (I am wearing trousers and a blouse, so it seems reasonable for her to also)

Except I can't find a nice blouse for a small girl. Have considered buying a boy's shirt but they all seem too formal, she'd look as though she was dressing up.

Anyone got any ideas? We are not especially fussy about how it looks but it should "work". Don't mind at all spending money on it, it's a big family event and anyway she needs some new party clothes. It really doesn't have to be pink or anything, she is not at all "girly".

Oh and it is next weekend so it needs to be either somewhere that can deliver quite fast or a store.

Thanks for all ideas!

we always went to laura ashley, which i know is tragic, but we had a whole host of pretty blouses and shirts for such occasions on 3 yos. No idea if they would be a worth a try now...

thanks both. Am liking the monsoon stuff. Have found a very nice shirt with pictures of bugs on it, will go in over weekend to try it on.

Used to get all our party stuff from Laura Ashley when I was a child but I just checked their website and I don't think they do kids stuff any more! Oh no!
