Wii Animal Crossing

Hi all im thinking of getting this i just wondered if anyone can tell me what wii speak is as the product comes with or without wii speak and just wondered if its really needed or just a waste of money.

wii speak lets you talk to your friends, so it is a microphone
my daughter has this and is a waste of money as you need to have the other person's code and they have to be online
but you don't need it to play the game, so my advice would be to buy the game without it

Thats just as i thought that i would probably be better off without it.Gosh im getting addicted to the wii.
