i am worried about all the storys in the press about them falling on young children. ont really want to wall mount it.
are they really unstable

Ours is screwed onto a stand. The base of the stand has two shelves which hold the dvd player etc and then a tall bit at the back which is what the TV attaches to. Very stable.

grinnypig, we've something similar and even the demolition derby that is our DD2 couldn't get it to fall on her and she's tried!!

my dad on the other hand just sits his on top of the shelf and i don't let her anywhere near to it

pud1 shop about and see which ones screw on etc, then go online and get it cheaper
