Lockable Medicine Box

Hi
Can anyone recommend a lockable medicine box and tell me where I can buy one?
My toddler is a little monkey and is in to everything.
I don't want one that attaches to the wall, I have no space for that! Just a box that I can store all the Calpol, Medised, Snufflebabe..etc..etc.. Nothing fancy (and expensive)
He seems prone to colds / infections and I have enough bottles to stock a small pharmacy
Thank you x

Damn saw this on google and thought yes mumsnet will have the answer and so far you don't!

My LO is also into everything at the moment and I need to be able to lock it all away - anyone?

We have a box from IKEA. Not lockable, but it does have a fancy mechanism a bit like a childproof bottle. Cheap.

Tool boxes from the hardware store usually have the ability to attach a padlock. There are some pretty colured plastic versions out there.

CMOTdibbler · 01/04/2009 12:20

Something like this ?

muffle · 01/04/2009 12:21

Our £10 one from IKEA is great. It does attach to the wall but could equally well not - it's just a plain large rectangular metal box with a key. It's painted cream. You should find it easily in the bathroom section.

Cash box would work but you need bigger IME, once you have amassed various bottles of calpol/nightnurse/gaviscon and loads of half-used packets of strepsils and paracetamol.

Toolbox

Thanks all - was looking for something able to put botles like Calpol in so cash box would be no good. A toolbox might be OK if I can find a small one though, our bathroom cabinet is quite small.

Really annoyed though, I saw something in one of the many catalogues that gets sent to me - unfortunately I threw it out can can;t remeber which one it is and google is not really much of a help.

Oh well I'll keep on looking

I feel your pain. DH went and bought a huge lockable deed box thing from Argos. It's fireproof or something daft so would break my foot if I ever dropped it. We keep it in a kitchen cupboard.

If anyone out there has the answer, I want to know too.

were you looking for something like this? We got a couple from blooming marvellous a year or so ago but I'm not sure where you would get them from now. They are very good but very small. We have one for all the child medicine and another one for the adult meds etc.

TweetleBeetle · 01/04/2009 17:28

that looks good ummadam - will try and see if I can get one over here.

The one I remember seeing was a white box with I think a green cross on it - Heals do a round one but I don't want to pay £44 - seems a bit excessive!

Hello, I know this is an old thread, but have just spent hours online looking for a lockable box and have found this:
