Where can I buy large clear plastic tubs/crates with lids for toy storage?

I mean to say, the cheapest place to get these large plastic boxes?

I plan to have a toy clear-out and try and rotate the toys around as dds are always bored with all their toys. The boxes most have lids as I plan to store the toys in the garage.

morrisons had them on offer a while ago

usually places like Dunelm or PoundStretcher carry them

Kbear · 09/03/2009 13:55

B&Q, supermarkets usually have them, those high street discount shops that sell just about everything!

sweetkitty · 09/03/2009 13:56

Ikea

tonysoprano · 09/03/2009 13:56

I saw some in Sainsburys last week.

NorbertDentressangle · 09/03/2009 13:56

The cheapest place to get them round here is InStore (bit like a posh Poundland ).

You could also try places like Wilkinsons

Itsjustafleshwound · 09/03/2009 13:56

Ikea Marketplace .... all sizes, all shapes really cheap

kerryk · 09/03/2009 13:57

i bought one in asda last week.

£7.50 with lid (it was a fairly large one)

Ponders · 09/03/2009 13:58

Have you got a branch of The Range near you? They have masses of them. Otherwise Matalan had some the last time I was in.

Or try here - unit prices v good if you'll be buying a lot.

AnnasBananas · 09/03/2009 13:59

Ahhh....Ikea

Unfortunatly, my closest one is about an hour drive. Don't think I could justify the petrol costs for plastic boxes.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try Wilkinsons and then InStore

Matalan have their own label version of this size for £4 each, & they sometimes do 3 for 2s as well.

pollywobbledoodle · 09/03/2009 14:05

on offer in wilko's about £3 iirc

NorbertDentressangle · 09/03/2009 14:05

Annasbananas -yes, but it wouldn't just be plastic boxes if you went to Ikea would it? It would be all sorts of other crap useful purchases

sweetkitty · 09/03/2009 14:07

I spent over £60 on plastic boxes in Ikea last week.

Totally agree by the time you have breakfast or lunch, load up on crap useful things including a toy each for the DC, then DP has to have a hotdog on way out it's a fortune

squeaver · 09/03/2009 14:08

homebase

Wilkos were the cheapest I could find. Got fairly large ones (60 litre) with lids last week for £4.50 each. Theyre quite good quality too.

They have smaller ones which are cheaper as well.

AnnasBananas · 12/03/2009 14:00

Thanks, all. Wilkos it was in the end. Bought a huge crate with lid thinking that would be big enough but only fitted about half the crap toys the kids have so I'll be going back for another one!
