I have a morphy richards, used twice daily, i also have a £100 argos voucher and dh seems to think that the purchase of the panasonic (holy grail!) breadmaker would be the best option.

is it worth it?

Depends how good the Morphy Richards is. I can only compare our SD254 to the Breville we had before.

The main thing is the quality of the bread. Using the same recipe, I could not see any difference in flavour or texture between the Panasonic and the Breville. The one difference was the much smaller kneading blade in the Panasonic, leaving a smaller hole in the bread.

Other differences include:
The Panasonic is very quiet in operation, much quieter than the Breville was.
The kneading blade tends to stay in the bread tin on the Panasonic, whereas it got stuck in the loaf in the Breville.
The Breville allowed you to set a timer on the dough program, the Panasonic does not.
