Ok, so I've looked at

Argos... £146 for the metal ones, which is ok i guess, but I do prefer wood if could find them at a good price, plus Argos have always been a nightmare re delivery.
Ikea... the thuka thing is nice, except the bottom mattress is traight on the floor, which I'm not sure I'm keen on, and delivery is hugely expensive.
Freecycle... nothing
Ebay... one lot for £240 delivered with mattresses, and they're wood.

But I'm kind of hoping someone knows a great secret seller that I dont Freecycle or second hand would be best, but we dont have a vehicle so a bit limited on what we can pick up!

Rise to my challenge ,please

The Ikea £67 wooden ones are fab,not in the catalogue but on line. Bottom not on floor good high rail on the top-look nice too. We fitted ours and 2 mattresses in a Zafira so you could get them yourself to save money.

buy a cheap frame second hand from the paper but choose mattress carefully so you don't get one of those nasty cheap ones where you feel all the metal springs.....pet hate in holiday accom!

East sussex, sadly. If you can think of any way you're welcome, though.

Have you looked online on the friday-ad?

pebbles79 · 06/03/2009 13:33

Ok just loooked at those ikea ones; says they need mattresses 200x90, and we have 2 ikea mattresses in the spare room that are 195x90, really good ones. Think they'd be ok? only 5cm gap each end! If so, this could be a great option; £67 total... just texted neighbour begging for lift in her car
