it seems too narrow for the chassis? has anyone sucessfully fitted one?

I've had one on an XT, have you pulled the arm bits out as far as you can?

yes i have and they stretch in put then won't go back into the grooves on the actual board itself iywim, i've unscrewed bars and stretched them in. so hard to explain!!!

So you've pulled the large plastic grooved bits out as far as they go? I find W40 makes them easier to adjust in & out, and sometimes the help of hammer is needed!
