Where can I get a replacement Phil and Teds tire?

Mine has a terrible puncture and has actually been pulled on the wheel. Nightmare as I cannot use the pram so am housebound - therefore I cannot afford the time it takes to order online.

DO YOU NEED A REPLACEMENT INNER TUBE, OR THE OUTER BIT AS WELL, I GOT A NEW INNER TUBE AND SLIME FROM BIKE SHOP, I WILL GET YOU A LINK FOR FULL TYRE, BACK IN A MO

(APOLS ABOUT CAPS)

www.practicalpushchairs.co.uk/accessories/phil-and-teds-sport?category_id=365;per_page=12;start=12 for spare parts online

Just try a bike shop like Halfords. DS's small bike has the exact same tyres as the Phil and Ted's so they can't be too specialist. New inner tube should do the trick unless someone has taken a knife to it.

For spares generally, you can ring Out and About who are the UK importers, they are extremely helpful, will post you things or suggest how to fix it. Tel: 01234 344230

thanks so much
what is slime?

if you do just need a new inner tube, make sure you tell the bike shop you need a 'kinked' (bit bent instead of straight) valve

littleducks · 26/02/2009 20:41

slime prevents punctures

artichokes · 26/02/2009 20:59

OK, I just examined the wheel. Can't see a hole in the tire and the inner tube is totally flat. Does that indicate I just need a new inner tube?

Erm.. have you a puncture repair kit? Bike pump? Not wanting to state the bleeding obvious but...

(Make sure you find and remove the thorn/glass/ whatever caused the puncture in the first place)

oh dear

artichokes · 26/02/2009 21:37

Oh Blithe, you are making the erroneous assumption that either DH or I have a practical bone in our body. We are the least practical people in the world. It takes two of us to change a lightbulb. Seriously, if we tackle this alone it will be carnage.

...I did not even know the tires have inner tubes until I started this thread...

All bike shops should stock them. They're a standard size tyre. its worth buying a new tyre as well as the tube as the tyres are about the same price. If the tyres have worn down a new tyre will be much more puncture resistant.

blithedance · 27/02/2009 00:13

Could you try an independent traditional bike shop then, the sort which should have a kindly old man in overalls with a workshop out the back? If you take the wheel off the pushchair and take it in, they should do the whole thing for you. I mean, Halfords might do the repair too, but not sure how they'd be set up for it.

www.pushchairpartsdirect.co.uk/13-phil-teds-spare-parts is the best place for Phil and Teds parts Smile
