Travel System for a small car (fiesta)

Anyone got any advice on a new travel system that will fit in the boot on a fiesta? Have tried quite a few and all too small apart from a graco one today but the car seat didn't fit! Plus thought it wasa bit fiddly. Am I being too picky? Have a max buget of £200 as this is baby 2 (all stuff for baby 1 was second hand to us so i fancied something new for once). Am at the end of my teather but have till July!

I had a Graco one which fitted into my Fiesta - the car seat fitted into the front passenger seat (my car didn't have airbags so that was ok) as the seatbelts in the back weren't long enough - although I think it would've fitted if I'd used the car seat base. I think Graco ones are quite bulky though so I'm sure you could find one that folds smaller.

I'm wondering if a base might help the car seat problem. don't have air bags but do have DH! We'll have to see. Have been googling "compact" travel systems but getting nowhere. Surely someone thinks that these things should fit in a car smaller than a people carrier?!!

My friend has a really small car and has had this problem too. The pushchairs that she can fit in her car are the Loola, Quinny Zapp, and the Jane Carrera all of which can be used as travel systems.

I have a tiny car (smaller than a fiesta) and I have a Graco buggy thing that fits in the boot fine and my hubby has a ford with the short seatbelts and the base thing means that it fits fine. I tried loads of travel systems and so few seemed to fit in the boot and to be honest many wouldn't have even fitted in the passenger seat or elsewhere becos they were still so big folded up.

Petite Star Zia 4. Has a soft carrycot and car seat and folds up really small.

here

I think they sell it in Mothercare as well now.

both quinny zapp and baby jogger city mini fold down small and take maxi cosi car seat. Graco car seats have rubbish safety ratings and the buggies tend to be a PITA to steer.

My loola was the only thing that I could easily fit in my clio. There's some good deals on those around atm and you can now get a base for the car seat

pramspotter · 27/02/2009 13:42

bebe confort streety?

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 27/02/2009 19:41

no the car seat is the creatis (but yes it's bebe confort)

nappyaddict · 24/03/2009 00:21

I wish I could help, I'm looking for one to go in a KA...!! Any idea's on that?? and I'm on a tight budget...thanx and good luck..!

Don't know how much you could pick one up for but I have a M&P Pliko Pramette which fits very easily into the boot of my Fiesta. Room for a couple of bags of shopping next to it too. Car seat also fits fine although I can't have it in the back seat behind me (the driver) as I have to have my seat too far forward. It's the Primo Viagio car seat with the Surefix base.

Car seat is very heavy though. But other than that I love the pram/pushchair/travel system.

fairimum · 03/04/2009 16:09

Icandy cherry!! folds up small and has maxicosi carseat - fitted in a KA - was about £210 i think new but ours was 2nd hand from ebay and like new for £140!! the first ones had some proiblems witht he wheels but they have sorted it and the customer service is fab if you ahve a problem - we love ours - maxicosi car seat fits, pram top, and buggy bit faces both ways!! you do ahve to take the seat off the frame to fold which we were worried about but to be honest is so much easier than my friends luna and quicker to get in the car!! so light to push, thing we really loved was that the car seat goes straight on the frame rather than having to lug whole buggy around and the car seat sit ontop of the buggy - if that makes sense!

my friend has just bought a silvercross 3d pram and car seat for her lo,
she too has a fiesta,

nicolamumof3 · 04/04/2009 13:39

i didn't think fiestas were that small, not a fan of travel systems personally as think baby should be flat in pram mostly, but if really had to would have a zapp as soooo small, and maxi cosi is fab seat.

pramspotter · 04/04/2009 16:41

Bebeconfort streety carseat is not the creatis. It's actually made by safety first.

sazm · 04/04/2009 16:50

the safety first car seat is made by maxi-cosi is it not??

sazzlelou · 04/04/2009 17:20

Bebe confort, Maxi cosi and safety first are all part of the same company

sazm · 04/04/2009 18:27

yup i thought that, i seen a pic of a safety first car seat one a zapp on ebay once lol!

Milla1970 · 05/04/2009 22:10

I've gone for the Cossetto Venture 3 in Chilli..!! It just about fits in my KA...and only cost £39.99 in the sale at Argos!!

alibobble · 07/04/2009 16:41
