May I recommend Tomy Aquadraw mats?

If you have under 5s, these are brilliant, particularly if you're out and about. There are 4 mats in a box, and a water pen thing. They are like those magic pictures where when you paint on the water, the picture magically appears. But when the water dries, the picture fades and you can use them again and again and again! Well worth a fiver

Yes, we've got the Thomas ones for long journeys. Very good.

They make good presents too - particularly if you need to post as they're very light.

Bah! Surely I am not the only person to have only discovered these in the last few weeks?

You're all at ELC every weekend aren't you, scanning the new toys shelves ...

We've got a large teletubbies one, which comes with a pen and a noo noo that fills with water and then makes splat marks. I've seen the mini ones they do look good for journeys in the car.

I had one of the large ones for my DS when he was younger and he loved it. Only bad thing was when I was busy and didn't fill the pen with water in time for him he just decided to pee on it !

A fiver?! You were lucky! Mine were £7.something from Boots!
Very great...but....does anyone know where you can get replacement aquadraw pens from? (I know you can use a paintbrush & water when at home but not out and about)

Aquadraw mats were pretty useless here. Maybe because we don't do long car journeys. I tend to get electronic noisy toys out for those anyway (noisy beepy things don't bother me).

All the Aquadraw mats, the DC soon learnt that they could just spill big cups of water all over them. They had no intrest in 'drawing' on them with the pens. Once the mat was all green/coloured in, they lost all interest until it dried out. Pretty useless toy.

IN FACT, I found an Aquadraw pen the other day, if anyone wants one I will post it to you (I'll even pay for postage, shame to waste it). Just leave email addy here.

Ooh, I hadn't read Lizzombie's post, anyway, put your email addy down, why doncha?
