Can anyone recommend a good 'own brand' nappy?

TEsco

Blackduck · 13/04/2005 11:40

Boots

swiperfox · 13/04/2005 11:42

tesco are the best. I would buy them over huggies or pampers anyday! And at the moment they're only £3.something a pack

Gwenick · 13/04/2005 11:44

snap swiper! When I had DS1 I was 'good' and bought all the 'branded' nappies because they were apparently FAR superior- all leaked, all useless - money got tight and I was 'forced' to buy Tesco own..........never looked back!

Donbean · 13/04/2005 11:45

Asdas own, used them from birth, cheeper, better no probs.

lunavix · 13/04/2005 11:46

TESCOS!!!!!!!!!

Cadbury · 13/04/2005 11:47

Another vote for Asda's own here. Used them for both of mine since birth. Good quality and economical.

misdee · 13/04/2005 11:48

Tescos. absolutly brilliant.

Blackduck · 13/04/2005 11:48

Only own brand I wouldn't recommend is Safeway...

Gwenick · 13/04/2005 11:51

Morrison's aren't great either - quite 'plasticky'

lunavix · 13/04/2005 11:54

I wouldn't recommend sainsburys their sizing is just bizarre.

Also despise all pampers except the stretchy purple ones and all huggies except the stretchy tigger/pooh bear ones!

Glad i tripped onto this thread..
am currently using pampers activefit for ds 14mths and they cost €16.59 for pack of 42 which we'd go thro in a week..
have been thinking about changing to cheaper brand and now have an idea where to go.. we have tesco and boots here so according to majority tesco are best.. i'll give them a shot!

linnywith2 · 13/04/2005 12:01

that's 16.59 euro!

Blackduck · 13/04/2005 12:01

Huggies absorbancy is naff.......Think you sometimes have to try different brands on the sizing front. Ds is good in Tescos or Boots, but leaks in others (thin waist...)

Satine · 13/04/2005 12:02

I've used Lidl's nappies for a while now - no complaints.

Eaney · 13/04/2005 12:08

Thanks for all the advise. Believe it or not only have small Tesco Express near me. Do you think they will have their full range there? Have loads of Boots near me so will try these as well.

Thanks again

Tesco's express dont sell tesco nappies - only branded ones. We've only got a little tesco's too and i think its bang out of order!!!!!

MandM · 13/04/2005 15:10

Dd, with special needs, is now 4 but is still in pull ups - slightly different than nappies I know, but might still be useful. I got sick of paying £10 a pack for pampers(never been a fan of huggies) so decided to have a go with som own brand versions.

Tesco pull-ups were excellent, just as good as pampers IMO but the Asda version were RUBBISH. They leaked constantly and got really big and heavy (IYKWIM) very quickly.

lmccrean · 17/04/2005 12:24

quick note to add - dont get the tesco value ones - the ones in the white packs...the ones in the purple packs are the good ones.

MarsLady · 17/04/2005 12:53

DON'T go near the Sainsburys ones. They are AWFUL! I love the ASDA ones they work wonderfully on the DTs.
