Baby due in a couple of weeks, and I'm trying to decide whether to to buy a carrycot for our slalom pro. We bought the travel system on ebay, so could stretch to carrycot but can't decide if its just waste of money and the lie flat car seat works as well? Can i take the straps out?

hi, i had both slalom and slalom pro for both dc. i used matrix as carrycot when they are little as matrix comes with apron. and even took abroad on holiday. i liked matrix as lie flat carseat and carrysot when baby. when we were about we used carrycot as moses basket, baby slept in there happily, at 5m.

I like the Jane carrycot because it has a strap that goes around their middle, which in a tiny baby is great because I found with the M&P carrycot she was so tiny she'd roll around from side to side if we went over rough terrain I was convinced she'd be brain damaged.

Hmm, seems I don't really need the carrycot in addition to the matrix - it just doesn't look as tho it'll be comfy as a carrycot with the straps still in it, and I can't figure out how to take them out. Do they even come out ?

It should have come with a mattress and the straps should have fed through the underneath, I'd say you need a carrycot IMO
