I really want to buy one of these for the summer before my pushchair days are over!

i am going to have sell my beloved p&t to finance and am wondering

whether to buy new or seconhand??

i am very fussy and keep my own prams in good condition so don't want to be disappointed, am also wondering about buying a s/hand chassis or one with worn out covers and then replacing these with the covers i really want.

Any suggestions? anyone?

whats you budget?

mamadiva · 19/02/2009 08:38

I'd say buy a 2nd hand one and replace the covers if you want

Knowing you you'll have a new one next week anyway LOL.

And it means you can test it out wth old covers before splashing out on new ones if you don't like it, how was your holiday?

MB covers usually stay in good nick and wash well. The canvas last longer than the man made ones though. You can get new covers but they're not that cheap - not sure how much at the moment? Also be aware that MB has gone into administration I think?

I've got the new Elite Urban which has canvas covers and is beautiful - I'll sell mine on when I've used it as resale value stays good.

If you do buy a second hand one though, make sure the pics are very good and if poss go for a local one so you can have a look first.

Flightattendant27 · 19/02/2009 08:42

Yes Sazzles the Urban is the swivel wheel one, the Terrain is the off road fixed wheel version and it is cheaper.

i won't an urban deffo don't do 'fixed wheels' here!! i really want a moss one thats another reason why i would buy new or get the covers new, to get the colour i want!

Also just looked at mb swift, like the look of that but wondering how it compares?

my ds is 19m my other three wheeler is a p&t but fancy a mb for a change and think it may be lighter?

I've had a P&T (which was great as a double) but nothing compares to pushing my beloved MB Urban. I'll be gutted when I no longer need it!

I don't know if the MB weighs less than the P&T, but the way it steers definitely makes it feel lighter.

Can't advise whether you should buy new or secondhand though - they do hold their value well, and if they've gone into receivership and aren't making any more (?) then they'll be like golddust soon

BexieID · 19/02/2009 16:27

I would get the one I really wanted otherwise i'd probably end up being disappointed, iykwim. I like the moss one too .

If get a good condition second hand one should be fine. The fixed handle ones are 4-5 years old and still sell well and are going strong! The new 2009 ones tho have a 3 year warranty...but not sure a pramaholic like you would keep it that long anyway
