Universal kind for a wooden highchair...I have an Ikea Gulliver at my parents but no straps and they have been discontinued now.

I found one on ebay and asked the seller to do a BIN and some bastardo beat me to it

can you not just use a set of reins?

lecohen · 16/02/2009 21:22

it's this chair:

I have a set of reins with spare clips to attach to my high chair. Just had a look at that Gulliver and can't see how the straps attach?

lecohen · 16/02/2009 21:27

it ties around a pole on either side with a little plastic bit, would yours work?

It basically needs to come in 2 parts to create a lap belt

you just buy a set of reins, they have connector things for highchairs, you could just loop and thread through it's self the connector fit rather than the D ring

lecohen · 16/02/2009 21:30

really? Oh, I am so dumb then lol...anyone have any spare that will fit this then?

lecohen · 16/02/2009 21:39

OP posts:
lecohen · 16/02/2009 21:40

hippopotamouse · 16/02/2009 21:43

No probs will wait, Was going to ebay them for starting £1 plus postage? They were only £6 when I bought them x

lecohen · 16/02/2009 21:45

so how much would you want plus postage if no one offers me an alternative?

Getting spoilt now lol

OP posts:
CarGirl · 16/02/2009 21:48

I think mine are navy anyway!!! Never seen black ones.

hippopotamouse · 16/02/2009 21:54

£2 all in? Am rubbish at this! LOL!

lecohen · 16/02/2009 21:59

Hi there, I would be prepared to pay that no prob BUT would this make a full harness or can I create just a lap belt? (my preference)

OP posts:
hippopotamouse · 16/02/2009 22:11

Ah sorry, it would make a full harness. You could buy a luggage strap and loop it through the bars at the back? Like this

lecohen · 16/02/2009 22:21

thanks very much...I actually do have something that works like that which i improvised with but not great for when i use a cushion as need a longer one...great idea though

CarGirl · 16/02/2009 22:22

Just cut the shoulder straps off it you don't want them?

lecohen · 16/02/2009 22:32

oooh, i want this:

babyandmeboutique.com/products/rochelle/strap.htm

think i'll ask my aunt to order for me unless someone can help me find it here?

OP posts:
lecohen · 16/02/2009 22:33

oh yes cargirl, you are a smartee, good idea

OP posts:
thisisyesterday · 17/02/2009 14:41

but there's no reason you couldn't use it as a full harness is there? I do on our highchair because the lap-belt type restraint it came with was too easy for ds2 to get out of!

any set of reins will have attachments you can loop around the bars, and then just put on child... no need to cut anything off unless you reeeeeeally don't want full harness.

i love that you linked to the product recall of it too! lol
a parent after my own heart

lecohen · 17/02/2009 16:50

lol re recall thing...doesn't affect the one I have as an older model, the item has been discontinued so only pic i could find lol

My dd1 hates a full harness, she can get out of anything really - little monkey
