Hi there, has anyone got a DH who might give me a bit of sensible advice re: servicing my car.
I am currently financially embarrassed and my 3 yr old Renault Clio (30,000 on clock) has never had a service! Is this a serious crime? Always says 'oil ok' and the service light has never come on. I drive it carefully and have checked the oil and water on occasions...How much longer can this go on and where is the best place to take it for a cheap but reliable service? Much appreciated.

dp is a mechanic (unfortunately asleep now!), I would have thought that if you didn't get it serviced regularly at a renault main dealer your warranty would probably be affected. But if it's 3 years old is it now outside warranty? If you haven't had it regularly serviced it will also probably affect warranty.
In terms of cheap reliable service can you get a recommendation for a local garage?
Hope that's of some help!

AFAIK 1st service should be at 18000 miles
or 2 years.

If it is now 3 years old you will need to have an MOT.

It does need a full service. Oil,coolant, brakes etc.

Try looking for a local indie garage rather than main dealer.

Thanks DrillBit
It did have an MOT & passed with no problems.
I guess local garage will be best re; service.
