Wanted home phone with digital answering, 2 hand sets, cordless and not RUBBISH!!

In the process of moving- or would be if the rubbish phone set-up DH bought 'cheap' (yeah) didn't mean that all those important messages about a new place coming up, first refusal to view etc weren't practically indecipherable because the answering machine is so bad AND if the phone itself didn't require about 15 button pushes to dial a stored number! Oh, I wish the IN BUILT digital radio (why??) had a volume setting between Black Sabbath Concert and mute, too!

Recommend me yours, please!

we have the BT diverse 5250 but it is old and there's probably a newer version out now.
Its been good but the speaker has gone on both the answer phone bases (we bought a replacement when the first one stopped working and that one broke quite quickly). Can listen to answerphone messages on handset though.
If I was to buy another I might go with a BT one again but would definately get one with a beep to let you know when you've got a message. We only have a light which flashes on ours and we sometimes miss a message as can't see the light properly.

And preferably one where the answering machine doesn't beep loudly at you every 20 seconds if you've chosen not to take a call- esp at 2.30am. What's the point of THAT??

Sorry! x posts! Tee hee! No, for us the issue with the beep is we have people in Australia who can't work out time zones...And the beep on ours is LOUD!
