Nike + Ipod thingy

Does anyone have the Nike + thing that goes in your shoe and measures your running?

I was just wondering if you actually needed to buy the specific shoe, or is it only because it has a special pocket for the little doohickey to fit in? ie. I was thinking I could fashion a little bag and tie it to my shoelaces instead.

No..you don't need to buy the special shoe...I got a little pouch for the thingy to go on which is attached to my shoe.

I do like the Nike+ thing but it isn't very reliable (for me anyway) at recording the distance. I have calibrated it but it always says I have run about a mile more than I have and that my pace is amazing...it's not!

Thanks Futurity. I've found a little pouch, which is just as well, as I'm useless on the home crafting front! I'll give it a go, it's not so pricey that if I can't get it to work 100%, then I won't mind so much.
