Audi A3 - how many carseats fit?

We are looking to buy a city car that will still accommodate our 3 kids in the back. We need to be able to fit in a stage 2 carseat for our 18 month-old and a booster seat for our 5 yr old whilst leaving enough room for our 8 yr old as well (without a carseat). Anyone have experience of packing lots of kids into this car?

We are also considering Mercedes A class.

Thanks!!

We used to have the A class and I'd say maybe but it would be tight - the middle space is very small - although it may have changed since I had one. Never had the Audi but that looks a bit bigger in pictures I've seen.

We have an A3 and the back is pretty tight - the middle seat especially. That said you could easily get 2 car seats in (one on each side) - and we will have to come September. We have isofix seats, and there are isofix bolts on the front passenger seat, where we have put a child seat on occasion (air bag turned off). So I'd say three seats, but no extra adults (or a very small one sequeezed in the middle at the back)! - your 8 year old may be OK, anyway you can give it a go before buying?

We have an A3 and i'd say that it depends on how small the 8 yr old is, i'm v small and its too tight for me.

The car seats are quite wide - the sticky out bits make it uncomfortable and actually take up more room than a person - if you see what i mean.
