Lego - feeling nostalgic for the way it used to be ...

.. like this... before all the themed sets, and the little guns, and the thousand overpriced weird kits that don't ever get used to make anything else and end up with crucial bits missing down the back of the sofa. When I was little I used to spend hours building crazy cities and machines..

we are still at that stage ... my mum bought ds a starter kit for christmas and he still uses it (and his duplo) for basic stuff. Won't be long before we end up with the kits I am sure. I sent off for the offer recently with the Sun or News of the World (cant remember which) for the 12 little sets but will wait until he is a little older to give them to him.

Are you mad? I had the 'nostalgia' lego, and was so excited about a farking window! I would have loved lego today - so many interesting colours and shapes of bricks.

And kids DO invent with it! DS started out obsessed with building by the instructions but now spends most of his time coming up with wild and wonderful creations, along with a lengthy story to go with it.

Lego - I won't have a bad word said about it!

This weekend we are going to my Dad's. I have told DS1 (4) about all my old lego that is in the attic...he is all excited and can't wait to get his hands on it. I hope he will be equally excited when he finds it is all "nostalgia" lego without any instructions!!!

my ds(7) has just built an art gallery out of lego think it's from his batman lego game. oooh i loved and still love lego.

though the batmobile that cost ££ a couple of years ago will probably never ever be the batmobile again

yup, lego in my mind should be a massive box of random bits from a car boot sale. dd has my old lego - and loves the windows

so maybe there's hope DC's might eventually use it to build schools or hospitals or somesuch!

oh yes, creativity always wins out. Kids often play with things in a completely different way to how you thought they would I think (ps love the leaflet you linked too- too cute)

I love lego! My brother still builds stuff with it.
