OLD PUSHCHAIR

hi just thought id ask does any 1 use a old pushchair at all mines a 1960s 1 that was in mums loft after my other 1 which was a modern 1 broke so mum got this 1 out of her loft, did at first felt quite concious using it after some funny looks, i havea 2 year old so he still needs his pushchair gets tired rather quick just didnt know if any body else uses an older 1 please to give me some encourage ment.Not all the time but have heard the odd saying from different mums " i wouldnt put my child in that " which can be off putting but then will these modern prams pushchairs last nearly 40 years, he was bit reluctant at first to get in it ( do you think children know at that age ) but then like mum says saves buying another 1 that might brake again
yes everything works on it but ok i wouldnt leave him in it on a great big hill just incase i didnt know if what are some peoples thoughts using old stuff thanks

Go for it girl. Not only are you saving yourself money, but you are saving a landfill site from having an extra pushchair in it!. Next time someone lokos at your funny, think to yourself - at least mine has lasted 40+ years, how long will these new ones last - 10?? And buy your little one something useful that you can keep reminding yourself you couldn't have got him if you had had to shell out hundreds for a trendy pushchair.

Nothing wrong with old stuff. My ds has some of my old cot blankets, you can't even tell they are old!

I'm sure your ds is very comfy in his 1960's wheels.

i'm sure in many parts of the country this would be considered cool and retro. i personally wouldn't mind pushing an older buggy, i desperatley wanted hand me downs to save some money but no one had any or were using them for their children.
i'd say as long as it hasn't got rust and mould on it push it with pride!

We had a carry cot that was dh's when he was a baby!

thanks every 1 i do honestly feel better now thanks to all you wallace did any 1 say anything to you about your carry cot i suppose it depends wat area you live in were i am is lots of council houses if u no what i mean and alot of teenagrs if you se any old ones lt me know then i no im not only 1

I would like an old pushchair, one of those with big wheels etc, would also love one of those traditional prams but then Id have to have another baby to put in it - no thanks

I bought both my silver crosses from charity shops, an older style oval fabric covered one for £10 and a gorgeous traditional caoch built navy and white one, with the big wheels and chrome swooshes for £5. Have to say that I like my mordern 3 wheeler though. Some of the 60's/ 70's ones seats seem very low.
