Argos do one but it's a manky (imho!) red colour. I wanted either black, grey or blue really, where else can I look? tried argos, wilkos and ebay. Just needs to be small, light and not too dear. Thanks!

mothercare?

Boots sell the maclaren volo for £50 at the moment

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 31/01/2009 16:51

Ah, we don't have a mothercare near us really. We have a boots, haven't tried there, but was hoping to spend less than that really as this one's just for nipping to the shops, not for sleeping in etc. Hmm...

Our Tesco tocks them

nicolamumof3 · 31/01/2009 17:24

whats your budget? If you want it til last till your ds is about 3yr it is worth spending the extra on the maclaren trust me

CarGirl · 31/01/2009 17:47

I've got an older style volo, it's red no hood you'd need to get a framed raincover £22 delivered?

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 01/02/2009 12:36

Hi Cargirl, thanks a lot for your offer but unfortunately I specifically didn't want a red one (see my op) sorry to be fussy!

Nicola, I just wanted one for whizzing round shops easily, I do have a more comfortable "proper" pushchair here but it's looking a bit tatty now and I don't want to spend a lot since he's 18 months. I'll have a look at the one you reccommended though.

I would also recommend a Maclaren TBH, get one cheap from Ebay I got a 2nd hand XT for my son who is 2.6YO, I wish I had got it before as it is just fab. The good thing as well you will get a lot of use from it if he is only 18M and you will make your money back no problem.

CarGirl · 01/02/2009 12:59

I don't really like red either but seem to have 4 red pushchairs!!!

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 01/02/2009 13:05

I'm crap, I'm trying to match the colour of the pushchair (roughly, not exactly) with my coat and handbag cos I'm trying to smarten up! lol

Another vote for the maclaren then,I'll have to have a look on ebay for one!

How about these?

Chicco

mamadiva · 01/02/2009 13:08

Sorry but LMFAO at matching pushchair to handbag...

You will be wearing something different now and again I assume so please don't do that.

CarGirl · 01/02/2009 13:08

Use the browse function go to pushchairs and then do nearest first - that way you can go collect and check it's in okay condition and not from a smokers house. If you link here we can advise on the condition etc!

Check uneven wear on the rear wheels and that if you look at it from the side it doesn't "bend" where the frame folds.

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 01/02/2009 13:29

heh, you'd think mamadiva, but to be honest I'm not really into clothes so it's just jeans or black trousers, with some kind of dark coloured top and one of two dark coloured coats! May as well get the pushchair to match since my wardrobe heralds so few surprises! lol

Thanks for the ebay links, didn't know to check for bending or uneven wheels! The thing I dislike the most about my old pushchair is that it squeaks and creaks constantly, so I'm a bit unsure of buying a second hand one.

maclaren, maclaren, maclaren. you won't be disappointed trust me. they are more expensive but soooo easy to sell on. what is your budget?
(sorry im repeating myself i know!)

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 01/02/2009 14:43

I just bought a maclaren volo in carbon for £26 inc p+p on ebay, since so many of you think they're great. It looks like it has a carrying strap between the handles which sold it on me a bit because he's starting to walk a bit more.

Thanks all for your good advice, I hope it's as good as you say!

Bargain!

You won't be disappointed, soo lightweigh it's scary LOL.

nicolamumof3 · 01/02/2009 15:00

that is a good price, tho i would have got one in boots, they are £50 but you get loads back in points and its got a hood and raincover.
here

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 01/02/2009 15:35

Yeah this one doesn't come with a raincover or hood, but I do have another pushchair that's nice and comfy with hood and raincover so I can use that for days when the weather is bad. This is really for whizzing to the park and to the shops, so ideal really.
