Second car seat suggetions

I think we need to get a second car seat. I went all mental with the first one and as such it is a beast that can not easily be moved from the car and into another. I would like a second car seat that can go in my aunts car and in the front of DH's van. Don't want to send a fortune as the first one was very expensive. Any suggetions?

Age and weight of child needed really - if under 13kg really do recomend the britax 1st class si, its a rear and forward face seat - mine has fitted well in every car i';ve tried it in.

if over 13 kg i would say the britax evolva 123. check out the which online website, you can compare sears for yourself and without signing up you can watch footage of the crash tests - very informative.

britax website also has a fit finder to check a seat will fit your car (and your aunts) and a video showing what happens when 5 point belts aren't tightened properly.

Good luck!!

but isn't cheap

Ok. My main car seat for dd3 (18mo) is a britax duo plus which is not ideal for what you want. Its v heavy for a start ...although it transfers easily using seatbelts in cars that don't have isofix.

My second car seat that MIL, my sis etc use for dd is a Britax Freeway. Fantastic car seats. No nonsense, no frills but does the job perfectly. Really easy to fit and fairly light (but not v light) too.

I have always had Freeways (had them for dd1 and dd2 too although the one i've got now is new because we weren't having any more babies!!) and the only car that it didn't fit perfectly in was a Fiat Brava (buckle crunch in the back) but even that fit beautifully in the front.

You can usually pick up a bargain. I got mine from Halfords, but they used to sell them in TRU too, not sure if they still do?

Will try to find you a link ...

I have britax freeway as second seat. It was £50 from halfords and is really easy to move between cars.

I'm going to buy a britax evolva 123 ultra as our 2nd car seat.

it got good safety ratings from Which and does from age 9months to age 12.
