A long travel cot, like a travel-cot-bed?

DD1 is two and a half and sleeps in a cotbed at home. We have tried her in a bed and she hated it.

We want to go away for a weekend but she is too long for our travel cot. We have just realised this means we cannot stay away overnight until she learns to sleep in a bed (could be a LONG time as we are not pushing it at home where we are happy having her contained).

Soooo, does anyone know of a super long travel cot?

We have a chicco (I think) travel cotbed that I got cheap from an ebay shop. My 3yo still fits in it no probs - but it is very heavy!

I can't find any links to it, sorry.

Wouldn't she go for a new my first readybed or something? Surely she could be convinced to sleep in a , ITNG, fifi, dora, disney princess etc bed?

You have an actual cotbed length travel cot??? That is just what I want. Will look on chicco site.

The readybed is a good idea but I don't think it will work. She hated the bed because she thought things could get in to it ("Mummy, nineteen leopards are in my bed", "Mummy, the lions can get me in here", "Mummy, I can't keep the gruffalo away").

I honestly do have a cotbed length travel cot, but have been searching online and can't find reference to it anywhere!!

It looks like their Lullaby one, with the bassinet on - not sure what the dimensions of that one are though.

Washersaurus · 30/01/2009 21:40

I think it was the Lullaby one, but it isn't described as a cotbed. Ours is in the Giraffe print (not pictured on here)

THIS looks perfect. was on chris evans this pm.

OK, I found the dimensions here - admittedly it is actually 129cm long, which is a bit shorter than a cotbed (but not much). I always use our cotbed sheets on ours and they fit anyway.

artichokes · 30/01/2009 22:01

129cm is pretty good though. Our current travel cot is more like 100cm. I think I might go for that one - thanks so much.

Thanks too to Clement for your link. It looks good but might not address her fear that things can get into her bed.

If you do buy that one, please don't curse me when you are trying to put it up/down .......

I got a very cheap one from kiddicare, it is an instep one i think, and it is long, my three year old can get in it. will look for link. It is heavy but if oyu are putting it in the car anyway, thats not so much of an issue...

geraldinetheluckygoat · 01/02/2009 19:16

just looked they dont do that cot anymore! how long is the cot you have? If it is one of the graco compact style ones, you can get longer ones they have one on the website for kiddicare which is 129cm long. I think that is about the length of mine and ive slept up to three year olds in it (am a cm!)
