if you read the instuctions on the box of the fab baby wipes warmer it does state that you have to turn the pile of baby wipes at least once a week to stop them going brown and drying up.

unhygenic......you are wiping wee and poo with them.....what else could they be.

are wormerys warm?

hatsoff · 05/04/2005 22:59

wormery's and warmth. there's a subject. Can't be too cold or they all go to sleep, in winter you can get a wormery warmer (well, you can wrap some bubble wrap or a blanket round it) or move it inside (I read about a woman whose coffee table was, in fact, a wormery). But you can't put grass clippings in cos they get too warm. GB - there's some threads on wormeries in the gradening bit. yes it's a ww but I think it needs more worms

gingerbear · 05/04/2005 23:03

yes, they have to be to make compost, but I think you can buy a wormery shelter and rain cover to kep the wigglers snug in winter. Expensive natch

I'm stepping out to say I'm jealous of your baby wipe warmer. I saw one in Jojo MamanBebe and wanted one, but couldn't afford it. I'd never heard of using cotton wool and water on DD's bum (I wondered why MIL gave me all these packs of cotton wool when I was pregnant. I used 'em to clean my Persian cat's eyes). In fact if I get pregnant again I'm gonna try for one on Ebay.

Gwenick · 05/04/2005 23:16

I used cold (shock horror) wipes on both my DS's bums in the middle of the night. Admittedly DS1 was a TERRIBLE sleeper - but even with the cotton wool and warm water we first used with it it made no difference. DS2 still went off to sleep beatifully.
