Maclaren quest v triumph

The time has come to shake off our (lovely) bulky pram in favour of a lightweight maclaren that I can carry with one finger . It has to be maclaren, but which one??

What are the advantages of the quest? The triumph seems to be a bit lighter but virtually the same in every respect, apart from not having a leg rest and costing a lot less.

If you chose one over the other, can you tell me why? Or if you have one, can you recommend it? Thanks everyone.

depends on the age of your child, i find the fabrics slightly more padded o the quest to be honest and just a bit nicer, think may recline a bit more? viewing panel in hood too i think and pocket possibly in back of hood.

you can get some quest mods on boots for £86 in the sale in the 2008 colours.

and as you've mentioned leg rest which is nice.

I had a quest for dd and really liked it but when it went in for repair mothercare gave me a triumph to use and i didnt like it as:

1.it only had one recline position
2.the seat stayed sitting up with just a buckle behind the seat(like the clip on a harness)so when dd leant forward the seat moved with her
3.it had no leg rest which i used on my quest when dd was asleep as she was more comfy with it up.

I,ve just got the maclaren xt and that is even better.

Definatly go for the quest out of the two you said

Thanks, I think I will go for a quest if I can find a good price. I looked on the Boots website but all the 2008 ones seemed to be sold out.

couple of quests here for 89.99 hth

ilikeyoursleeves · 24/01/2009 17:06

I got a Quest mainly due to the colour LOL, DS has it in a lovely lime green, but he also always uses the leg rest and it reclines well. I've had it for a year and use it all the time when out and about, tis fab!

carrielou2007 · 24/01/2009 17:55

I think it depends on the age of your dc. I have had 3 quests and bought a new triumph this week.

It is a bit lighter and my dd is now 2 so I don't need the legrest but being a bit of a lump being lighter really helps. I am not keen on the clip to adust the back of the buggy but it is bright bright pink which more than makes up for it for me!!

There is an ebay seller with navy BNIB that were 45 I saw just now??

Bluebread - I have a used Quest, still in vgc, wheels hardly worn etc (only used for one dc for a short while) - which you can have for £20 if you'd like?

It is grey and the seat part is royal blue.
Sadly no raincover though.

bluebread · 24/01/2009 22:23

Thanks everyone. Thanks for the offer eekamoose . Will have a think. Would def need a raincover but I guess I could get one separately.

yep, I have 2 quests, a triumph and a volo - have spare raincover shoukd you want to buy one!!!!!!!!!

amazonianwoman · 25/01/2009 22:36

eekamoose - if bluebread isn't interested in your quest I might be! Do you have any photos?

flame17 · 25/01/2009 22:40

Carrielou - is the seat bigger/wider on the Volo than the quest?
Thanks

carrielou2007 · 26/01/2009 09:18

no the seat is the same size but obs not as long as doesn't have the extendable leg rest.

I loooooove my volo (it's my second) just so light and easy to use and dd will sleep in it though I leave it in the car so not often used when she will be napping.

EllieG · 26/01/2009 09:20

I chose the quest - just looked a bit more sturdy and comfy than the triumph and I was getting it when DD was young as needed for a holiday when she was 4 months, so wanted the extra support

eekamoose · 26/01/2009 17:06

Sorry amazonian, only just seen this.

I haven't done any photos yet, no.

Are you still interested? I could take a couple tomorrow.

3girlies · 26/01/2009 19:53

Eekamoose - can I be next on the list for this? Thanks!

Sorry to hijack!

amazonianwoman · 26/01/2009 21:08

Eekamoose - yes I'm still interested. Can you tell me how old it is? Does it have the newer style wheels? A pic would be great thanks!
