Hi there

I haf my hair cut at Rush last night and for the first time ever, had my hair straightened. I was truly amazed.

I now want to buy some GHDs!!!!!!!!!

Where can i get them as cheap as possible (not ebay or anywhere vaguely unreliable)

Should I get the regular ones or the mini ones?

I have medium short hair growing into a shoulder length bob

Thanks in advance

Look at the Babyliss Pro230. Fab reviews (better than Ghd). I think you can get them for less than £35 on Amazon.

I have both ghd's and the babyliss 230 ones and tbh I don't find a huge difference in either of them. You can get babyliss ones in wilkinsons for £25 if I remember correctly

SlightlyMadScotland · 23/01/2009 15:00

It is the Pro230 ones you want though...Pro210 are crap

GHDs are fab, one of my desert island musts.

Get the regular ones - will be much less effort. I have short hair and they're fine.

No idea where to get them cheap though!

In the past I have bought other straightners with rave reviews and I have to say they were OK - that is until I bought my GHD's which are far better - though 3 times the price.

I would say go with you budget. If you can afford them, get GHD's if not get the other version they will also do a good job and you'll never know the difference!

I bought myself the babylis ones and my daugghter ghds for christmas. GHDs are slightly better in my opinion...but really ver very slightly. For the price i would try the babylss ones...they straighten my thick unruly hair really well!!

Thanks everyone

Really open to advice - am just worried that if I buy non-GHDs, I'll regret it as they won't be as good and I will then end up going and getting GHDs as well hence thinking I should just invest up front

Personally I am more than happy with my Babyliss ones. I don't think there is quite as much of a separation between GHD's and the rest of the market any more.

As I say (and others on here say)...Ghd's really aren't much better than the Babyliss Pro230. The only thing I would point out is that the only negative in teh reviews I have read is that the on off swicth is badly placed. It doesn't cause a problem for me because a) I use them upside down and it isnt a problem and b) they heat up so quickly it is not really a problem.

Can't comment on the babyliss ones as I've never tried them, but ghd customer service is meant to be excellent ie they tend to replace with new if yours break or are faulty. Not that I've ever had any probs with mine - about 7 years old and still as hot as new.
