toilet seat question

Hi, my little boy is two and a half and is using the toilet very well, mainly standing up. We are going on holiday soon and I am trying to get hold of one of those folding toilet seats that are in like four different sections (apparantly can fit in your bag!) so he is not uncomfortable if he needs to sit down on the toilet.

Does anyone know where I can buy one of these from online or in the shops? or if anyone has one that they do not use any more they would be willing to sell? Any responses are greatly appreciated.

Thanks, are they easy to keep clean and transport around?

I saw them in a big branch of Boots.

My ds prefers to sit on the toilet 'baack to front' so his bum is at the front o f the seat & he 's facing the cystern - one less thing to lug around

Have to agree that I wouldn't fancy one lurking in the bottom of my bag! DD was always a bit nervous on loos without a seat (where is my lid!) but I just promised to hold on tight and she is fine now. I'd have a go without it if I were you, otherwise as someone else said, its just one more thing to lug around, and not a particaly nice one at that!

I think Blooming Marvellous or PHP do them on line. I didn't transport ours around a lot day to day but found it especially useful to take on holiday. It does have its own carry pouch btw!

Do you mean this ?

They are invaluable - and NO they aren't unhygienic sitting in the bottom of your bag !! I always wipe mine over quickly with one of those parazone toilet wipes before putting it back in it's bag - and it gets an occassional wash in the dishwasher to boot. Anyway - people worry too much about toilet germs - after all it's only your child's bum that's been on it - how dirty is it going to be ?

I like mine because dd always puts her hands under her cheeks on the loo, and this way she is touching our seat, not some unknown germy thing - and that to me is worth the extra weight - which is BTW about the same as a paperback book.

I got mine from John Lewis, although I didn't use it much for ds - presume I will use it more for dd, but as she is only 15 months not quite time yet! The best thing I ever bought was the folding potty, which we used over and over again

Thank you all for your responses. I agree with scatterbrain about the hygiene, i hate taking him into public toilets he always wants to touch the seat like some magnetic field force is driving him to do it!
