OP posts:
Umlellala · 19/01/2009 20:54

4andnotout, I really like it (from the one time we went out with it!) but I just don't think I need a double.

The pros

  • umbrella fold
  • LIGHT
  • small, same size as lots of singles
  • both seats recline
  • big basket (much bigger than my Maclaren)

The cons

  • tall handles (I am 5ft 2 and can manage but they are high)
  • slightly small seats compared to my Maclaren XT though my 2.9 yo fits in easily

Are you sure you want pink? The baby blue is v cute... Make me an offer!!

debbie102 · 19/01/2009 20:54

thanks elmo and ella, im not really looking to buy onetbh. ive got a navy one in my spare room exactly the same as that one, was just wondering if it would sell mines in excellent condition though, think i only used it bout three times, mite try get 50.00 for it wat do you think is it worth me trying. in your honest opinion
thanks

elmoandella · 19/01/2009 20:58

if yours is in much better nick than the one in photo i'd try local paper. or gumtree. they make appaling money on ebay.

you will get between 20-50 quid for the older model 50-100 quid on the newer ones

it's ridiculous how little they make for such an amazing piece of kit.

elmoandella · 19/01/2009 21:00

someone finally replied to my other thread. aparently carrera is great all round. except is quickly outgrown.

so xt it is.

sell forest. sell!!!

debbie102 · 19/01/2009 21:02

thanks yes mines immaculate i bought it thinking id use it had it storedupstairs for two years just sitting in spare room butnow josh is way to big for it he look risiculous iyswim, il try gumtree if not il shove it on the for free board. its a shame to seeit sitting her doing nothing lol

4andnotout · 19/01/2009 21:06

umlellala Im only 4'10 so handles will probably be huge but i just want to try one! Today i ended up with dd3 in the pliko and dd4 in the sling, as they are digging up the pavements on the way to school and i cant fit the mb down there! I have only got about 1/2 of your asking price so far might list duette on fleabay!
Does anyone think i would be better splitting it into a few lots ie 2x seat unit & carrycot, car seat, chassis, sunshade?

Umlellala · 19/01/2009 21:19

oh gosh, 4andnotout (we are hoping for 4 kids too eventually!), think the handles might be too high... am in no hurry to sell, it's in the loft at the mo. Have asked dh and he def wants £80 for it (can't believe we paid £160 and haven't used really and now on offer! )- but could knock money off if you had a buggyboard or a maclaren side by side double or something. As I say, no rush, let me know if you might be interested...

4andnotout · 19/01/2009 21:23

I sold my buggyboard not long ago Still have loads to sell though so might get some more funds together soon. 4 is a lovely number, i never imagined i would have 4 by the time i was 26 but cant imagine it any other way now and would like 1 more!

pushchair · 19/01/2009 21:42

Is nicola around? Which courier did she end up using recently? Or MrsMagooo I don't have a printer. Need to arrange courier for MB.

nicolamumof3 · 19/01/2009 21:49

i used interparcel.com but i had to use a printer so needed to go to library (that was for their economy service, cost me £13.79 inc.£250 ins)

oooh can't wait to hear about your mb!

pushchair · 19/01/2009 21:59

Did you speak to them nicola ?
I have a phone number for DHL I can try tomorrow. I would try parcel2go again but it was a bit complicated. Wish I had the conyact details for yousellwedeliver.

sorrento · 19/01/2009 22:00

Can I ask a random question on here please ?
Is the mama's and papa's car seat really that bad ? It seems to get slated in the past and yet it's now isofix and looks a lot less upright, have people been happier with them lately ?
TIA

elmoandella · 19/01/2009 22:01

parcel2go is not complicated. you dont need to fill in sizes and weights. thats optional. just the addresses and if you dont have printer it's ok as the dhl guy has barcodes. just make sure you clearly label the to and from bits

elmoandella · 19/01/2009 22:02

never had one sorrento. i feel they look very small compared to a maxi cosi or ventura types. you dont get much length of use from them if you have a large baby.

nicolamumof3 · 19/01/2009 22:03

i haven't used parcel to go as it kept coming up with weird questions.

sorrento no experience on m&p carseats im afraid sorry, im currently using maxi cosi ones for my two toddlers.

nappyaddict · 19/01/2009 22:03

Sorry can't compare carrera cup to XT cos i've never had one. I do love it for DS - the seat it really high up and comfy. He actually climbs in it just to sit in it in the daytime cos he loves it so much The handle is good for us cos from when DS started to walk he has always liked to get out and walk for short distances so it means i can hold his hand and still push the pushchair easily. He's 2.6 and got oceans of room in it left. The only reason I'm selling it is cos it's a bit too heavy to lift on and off the bus so want to get XLR.

I've got shoes up to size 6F/G if anyone is interested. All immaculate condition cos DS usually had at least 5 pairs in each size

elmoandella · 19/01/2009 22:05

nappy - xlr is useless for bus. far too long and far too heavy.

nicolamumof3 · 19/01/2009 22:06

nappy what smaller size shoes do you have? luka is currently a 4g. your carrera looks lovely are pics on your profile?

nappyaddict · 19/01/2009 22:06

Elmo - that's what i use when i look after my friend's baby seems ok.

pushchair · 19/01/2009 22:07

Thanks. I'm away to bed now. elmoandella did you see they are having burns night emoticons on the 25th

onelittlelion · 19/01/2009 22:07

I like senditnow as can do time slot and if no show or if delivered late too get a refund rather than having to rebook.

I think it's actually owned by pf too so no middle man altho can't speak to anyone ever which can be frusrtating altho they do respond to emails quite quickly.

nicolamumof3 · 19/01/2009 22:08

oooh i might try senditnow, im hoping my maclaren sells some time soon!

nappyaddict · 19/01/2009 22:11

nicola - sorry haven't got round to doing any pics as i took all the covers off to wash them. there are pics of some slight scratches on my trail and it's the same as this one

I have 2 pairs of doodles in size 6, a pair of next ugg style boots in 7, some lonsdale white with black polka dots pumps in 6, a pair of t-bar canvas shoes navy blue with boats on in 6, a pair of brown t bar shoes in 6. i've got some in smaller sizes too but will have to find them out. I've definitely got a red pair from clarks in 3G and a navy blue pair from hush puppies in size 5 or 5.5

nicolamumof3 · 19/01/2009 22:13

yep be interested in anything 4.5g or 5g or h (he's got fat feet bless him!)

i quite like look of this?

nappyaddict · 19/01/2009 22:13
